Natural Hair Stylist

Client:

If you see someone with a Natural Hair Style you like, make sure to stop and ask them for the stylist's information.   You can use Google and use Style Seat to find someone in your area.

Your initial phone call should determine whether you want to go in for a consultation.

Do they have a Social Media presence.

Make sure you are clear on the style you want.  You can text the picture, show them pictures or have stylist show you pictures.  Make sure the picture you are shown is their own work.  I have see my own work on other stylists card and promotional material!

How well do they explain the process; do you feel comfortable, do you like the atmosphere of the salon?  If all check out.........you are ready make your appointment!

Stylist:

Having a website or social media presence helps when clients are trying to find you.

Know your techniques and the different variations of them, so you are better able to determine your clients needs, eg, consumers mix up Goddess Braids, Fish Tails and Ghana Braid.  All look similar but are a completely different stitch for each technique. There are quite a few different Twists; Two Strand Twists, Comb Twist, Senegalese Twists, etc.

Confirm type of hair you are using, whether you are providing or you need them to bring their own

Remember your work speaks for itself.  Referrals are the best, so make sure to give each client your business cards to pass out.

Have a wonderful and productive week.  Don't forget to hug and compliment someone, you never know whose day you are making.
